So, despite the minor bug (see last post), which I am sure those nice people at Mindjet will provide a fix for… or tell me it’s my fault! MindManager still remains an integral part of my workflow, so here’s a summary of…
Mindjet Connect, Free Edition
Provides:
- Web-based visual mapping
- Online storage and sharing of Mindjet maps and other files
- Multi-user collaboration capabilities
- Cloud-based document management
Guided Brainstorming
This feature provides a step-by-step guided process to help you create a new map
Analysis Views
Assists with prioritising and categorising your map topics using a set of analytical views
Marker Index
Provides a pivot view that shows your map topics categorised by their markers, this is one of my favourites, particularly on complex projects, this is really going to help with another level of visibility and navigation
Multiple Hyperlinks on Topics
Now you can add multiple hyperlinks on a single topic, this is a really nice feature, preventing the need to create placeholder sub-topics just to link to documents etc.
CSV Spreadsheet Export
Export either an entire map or a selected branch to a CSV (comma-separated-value) file, including task information
Enhanced Project / Task Management
The filtering capability has been updated to let you quickly 'show' or 'hide' content.
With new pre-set Task Filters which let you quickly filter your map to show task assignments, overdue tasks, upcoming tasks and task milestones
Task Milestones; fantastic... You can now specify a task as a milestone by selecting an option in the Task Info pane
Sort by Task Fields; you can now go beyond priority and progress, now you can sort branches by task information including start date, due date, duration and resources.
Expanded print options for Gantt Charts; you can now specify a date range for printed output
Task Creation and Rollups; Drag a topic from your map onto the Gantt chart to make it a task
