This has got to be one of the most common questions I get asked. In the interests of maximizing the AutoCAD drawing area, Autodesk have given us the facility of hiding a number of the user interface items, one of those being the display of the Layout and Model Tabs along the bottom of the drawing area...
By default the display of the Layout/Model Tabs as shown above is missing, and is replaced by Layout/Model icons in the status bar, as sown below...
You can toggle between the 2 display options by right-clicking over the tabs or icons and selecting "Display Layout and Model Tabs" or "Hide Layout and Model Tabs" as required.
its not so much as where did they go.... cause that was pretty easy to figure out with a bit of searching... it was how do i get to the page setup manager when they are minimized... there was/is no right click functionality to the minimized icons... the only recourse was to go to the file drop down and select it... seems to me a slight oversight on autodesks part... among others ;)

Exactly, we may have gained some screen real estate, but why have we lost functionality!
A question for the development team at Autodesk…

THANK YOU for that information Mr. CADit! Now I can stop pulling my hair out and save the expense of that wig I had been looking into.

Have a look at the "Options" dialog, on the "Display" tab...
In the lower left section "Layout Elements" you will find a check box for "Display Layout and Model Tabs".
Hope this helps
